Static Load Testing

Static Load Testing is essential for assessing the structural integrity of lighting columns and other structures. This process involves applying a load to observe and measure the structure’s response.

Our bespoke software, aligned with BS EN 40 standards, precisely determines the required force for testing.

Our mobile testing machines, designed for optimal force application, coupled with telemetry equipment, provide accurate load measurements. The process, enhanced by sensors and real-time plotting through our software, ensures unparalleled accuracy and efficiency in structural evaluation.

Below Ground Testing

Lighting columns are particularly vulnerable to corrosion in the region just above and slightly below ground level. Factors such as water, road salt, chlorides, and oxygen from the air converge, creating a highly corrosive environment.

A specialised probe has been developed to efficiently scan this critical area, providing an instant reading of the percentage loss of wall thickness on the instrument display.
The system is designed for external deployment, with a compact search head that is utilised internally to detect any loss of wall thickness.

The beauty of this technology lies in its non-intrusive nature, eliminating the need for excavation on-site. Remarkably, the device is capable of detecting the percentage loss of wall section up to 750mm below ground level, ensuring comprehensive corrosion monitoring without the disruption of traditional excavation methods.

Ultrasonic Testing

Ultrasonic testing is a non-destructive method used to assess the wall thickness of columns by transmitting high-frequency sound waves through the material.

By comparing these readings to a reference thickness (taken from good quality material), we can accurately calculate the Loss of Section.

This non-invasive technique provides reliable, precise measurements, even in heavily corroded or degraded metals, making it ideal for structural integrity assessments.
